GUERRERA STAFF PROFILES

Joseph A. Guerrera, Jr.

President

Joseph started out working for his father, a residential builder and developer. He has worked in all aspects and capacities of construction all his life. He began Guerrera Construction Company, Inc., in 1979. He built his company from the ground up and takes great pride in his work.

His company is built on hard work based on integrity and is reputed to go the extra mile to guarantee that projects are done in a professional and timely fashion.

Thomas C. Kase

Senior Project Manager

A carpenter by trade, Tom began his career in 1982 and operated his own construction company before joining Guerrera Construction in March 2002 as project superintendent on the multi-million dollar Stop & Shop Supermarket project in North Haven, Conn. He has served as superintendent, project engineer and project manager on a wide variety of heavy highway, private site, and commercial and industrial construction projects.

Robert J. Rossi

Project Manager

Robert began his construction career in 1972, after completing studies at Hartford State Technical College, majoring in civil engineering related to structural design, route surveying and highway design. He joined Guerrera Construction in April 2004 and his experience includes heavy highway, site work and building for private and municipal projects.

Michael Norkowski

Project Manager

Michael started working in the environmental construction industry in 1993 and has experience in field work, estimating, job supervision, project management and state compliance report preparation. He started work in the civil construction industry in 2001 and has held positions as a project engineer, project manager and superintendent. Additional experience includes layout and hands-on installation of waterline, sewer, septic systems, drainage, utilities and road building. He earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in communications and human relations and an associate of science degree in architectural engineering from Norwalk Technical College. James Somers

Surveyor

Started surveying in 1968 for a land surveying and civil engineer company. He has a degree in engineering technology and has been licensed for land surveying in Connecticut since 1980. He was a partner at Savarese & Schefilti Land Surveying and Civil Engineering and has experience in road design, residential and commercial site plan design, construction and land survey stakeout, and subdivision design. He also has experience with CAD drafting, computer aided computations for the estimating of quantities of materials, robotic total station operation and experience with GPS systems operation. He has been with Guerrera Construction since February 2002.

Edwin J. Hellauer

Chief Estimator

Edwin’s construction career began in 1983. He has functioned as an equipment operator, superintendent, and estimator for major civil contractors in both the Connecticut and New York markets. Studied civil engineering at The University of New Haven, and is a certified professional construction estimator as recognized by the American Society of Professional Estimators. He is a state-licensed crane operator and asbestos abatement supervisor, and is trained to the 40-hour Hazwoper operations level. He is proficient in several types of estimating, earthwork, takeoff, and scheduling software. He served as an elected town official for 14 years, has chaired several municipal and non-profit agency building committees, and is a state-certified fire fighter II level. He joined Guerrera Construction in January 2013. 

Jason Joslin

Project Manager

Jason has been a Project Manager with over 20 years of construction experience.  Specializing in Heavy Highway Construction.

Jason has performed as the Project Manager on major projects involving limited access highways, urban settings (including the City of New Haven), demanding schedule constraints, innovative techniques and environmental concerns.  Jason is known for his approachable demeanor by both clients and coworkers and has established working relationships with public agencies. He joined Guerrera Construction in June 2021.
