Rehabilitate, Light and Mark Taxiway ‘C’ at the Danbury Municipal Airport
Taxiway ‘C’ is the parallel taxiway that serves Runway 8-26 at Danbury Municipal Airport. Taxiway ‘C’ consisted of asphalt pavement that had experienced areas of deterioration and cracking and was in need of rehabilitation. The connector taxiways from Taxiway ‘C’, including a portion of Taxiway ‘D’, east of Runway 17-35, were also in need of rehabilitation. The width of Taxiway ‘C’ and the connector taxiways were reduced from 40 feet to 35 feet while the width of Taxiway ‘D’ remained at 40 feet. The work included regrading within the turf areas between the connector taxiways. Rehabilitation of Taxiway ‘C’ included the removal of approximately 17,500 sf of asphalt pavement and the placement of approximately 3,900 ton of asphalt pavement. The work also included installation of new LED taxiway lights, conduit and electrical cable, homerun cable, and pavement markings.
