Town of Winchester – Wallens Hill, new water storage tank and control building
The scope of work involved clearing and grubbing about 2.5 acres, then exporting 1,800 cy of surplus materials. The site work include the installation of a new electrical service with site lighting and a security system. A storm sewer system was installed, along with the adding to new 16” water main extension to service the new control building and new water storage tank. Access to the tank is over a newly constructed 500’ paved driveway. We excavated the foundation for the water storage tank and Statewide Aquastore was subcontracted to cast the foundation and erect the 500,000 gallon tank. The site was landscaped with large grass areas and a number of plantings. The control building arrived in two sections, lower and upper level structure. The lower level, weighing 97,000lbs was installed below grade and contained the hydraulic controls to aid in the use of the new water storage tank. The upper portion housed the monitoring and electrical controls. The tank is schedule to go online in early 2025.
